Bilingual Elementary School
Primary to Grade 4

Bilingual Entry into Elementary School

Our Elementary School consists of the Primary Class for our 5 year olds (entry level) and Grades 1 to 4. You want your child to have a gentle introduction to school life. We ensure this with our Primary Class as a stepping stone to our wide range of Elementary School learning opportunities. There is still time for bilingual play and relaxation between lessons in the Primary Class, and entry into Grade 1 is not far away then. Of course, it is also possible to be accepted into Grade 1 without having attended the Primary Class.

Our Language Concept

Primary Class

A warm welcome

Our skilled teachers welcome your children warmly into their homeroom. First and foremost, our youngest students develop their communication skills in English and German via the immersion method and enjoy learning letters and sounds in a fun, multi-sensory way. Visits to the school library, rhyming, singing, storytelling and letter formation play an important role.

Grades 1 to 4

In Grades 1 to 4, children continue to foster their language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, in both English and German. The two languages receive equal attention in the curriculum and the children benefit, as they did in Preschool and in the Primary Class, from the consistent use of the immersion method.

Students who start out at accadis ISB with little knowledge of one of the languages are being supported individually, enabling them to catch up rapidly.

Subject lessons

Primary Class

Children learn to write their first words, initially only in English. Early number skills and Science investigations complete the core curriculum. Creative exploration in Art and Music, fun in Movement and Sports lessons, trips in and around the local area and relaxation during guided playtime add to a joyous experience. At the end of the year, the children are equipped with enhanced fine and gross motor skills, new knowledge, developed social abilities and are keen to start Grade 1.

Grades 1 to 4

The children enjoy a broad range of subjects. As a state approved school, we meet the curricular requirements of the State of Hesse, which we enrich and extend by elements of international curricula.

Our qualified teachers focus on tried and tested teaching methods, but enliven lessons creatively through practical and investigative work that is especially stimulating and motivating for your children. In addition, thanks to the excellent digital infrastructure of the school, the students also enjoy the benefits of online learning tools.

Our school community – strong values and excellent pastoral care

You want your child to enjoy coming to school and to have positive learning experiences, strengthening his or her personal confidence.

Being a part of our close-knit school community is a positive experience for our students at any age. They enjoy the constructive atmosphere at our school where students are recognized and treated as individuals. Established links between the students in the Elementary and Secondary Schools ease the transition into the Secondary School at the end of Grade 4 and give a sense of purpose and growth to the older students.

Each student is invited to broaden their mind with further experiences and choices that complement our curriculum.
