In some countries, poverty is so great that many children will not see a festively decorated tree or a single gift at Christmas. This is why the Rudolf Walther Foundation's "Kinderzukunft" organisation has organised the "Christmas Gift for Children in Need" project. Students, administrative staff, lecturers and teachers from the ONEaccadis family collected 451 gifts for the project and set a new record. The presents will make children’s eyes shine in orphanages and hospitals, schools and slums in countries such as Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina and the Ukraine.
Students gave with much devotion
The accadis ISB students in particular identified with the project and diligently collected gifts. The teachers had regularly advertised the project in the morning homeroom and with the students discussed how they can help children who are not as well off as they are. Many students packed presents for children of their age and felt especially connected to the campaign. Also the teachers and administrative staff packed presents, so that at the end about 406 gifts were piled up to a colorful mountain in the accadis ISB Office. We are very proud that the sense of community at accadis ISB is so great. Together with the packages from accadis Hochschule, this shows the very personal accadis atmosphere.
A students’ appeal to his fellow students and former classmates
Bledion Vladi was the one who motivated the students and teachers to get active. He is an accadis ISB and accadis Hochschule graduate. "Especially in these uncertain times it is important to stick together. That is why i am especially pleased that we collected so many parcels for the second time in a row – despite difficult conditions."
Many little things in shoe boxes
The gifts were wrapped in shoe boxes, which the students and teachers then decorated for Christmas. For the parcels, they bought little things for boys or girls aged up to six years, up to twelve years or up to 18 years. In the boxes, the children will find useful items such as writing utensils, coloring books or toiletries such as toothbrushes, hair clips or towels. They can also look forward to playthings, cuddly toys, books, puzzles, sweets, chocolate, caps, scarves and gloves.
Help for 70 000 children in poverty
On Tuesday, 7 December 2021 "Kinderzukunft" employees of the Rudolf Walther Foundation collected the 451 presents at accadis ISB. The Rudolf Walther Foundation is an organisation established in Germany that has been supporting around 70,000 children in need for more than 30 years. Throughout Germany, more than 32,000 gifts are collected for "Christmas presents for children in need", which are brought to the needy children in trucks. Volunteers and companies make their forklifts and trucks available for the project or bear the costs of transport.
