For the first time, our fourth and fifth grade students walked through the streets of Bad Homburg with their colorful lanterns as part of the children’s lantern parade marking the end of the Bad Homburger Laternenfest. With almost 60 children, they represented the largest group among the participating schools and clubs and were proud to lead the procession, together with Laternenkönigin Louisa I., from the Louisenbrunnen to the festival stage in the Jubiliäumspark.
Lanterns, flags and a logo
Right from the start of the new school year, the fourth and fifth graders worked diligently with their class teachers on their lanterns in their “Individual Studies” class. The school motto this year was our international community at accadis ISB, which now comprises 53 nationalities. The creative artists painted their lanterns with colorful country flags. They also decorated the lanterns with the accadis ISB logo, which they painted on with specially made templates.
From a float to lanterns
In the past two years, the accadis ISB staff and parents presented an accadis ISB vehicle at the Laternenfest Parade. This year the students themselves had the opportunity to be creative and participate in the parade. The children enthusiastically carried their lanterns through Bad Homburg and were happy to "lead the way”. As the "grande finale", they watched the impressive final fireworks of the Laternenfest.
