Today's interview: The Kaddig family with their son Julian, who has completed the accadis ISB Primary Class and is now in Grade 1.
What made you decide to enroll Julian in accadis ISB?
We enrolled Julian at accadis ISB because we were convinced by the bilingual concept and the well structured timetable that is set already in the Primary. It was important to us that subjects and lessons were taught by native speakers and that the children would receive individualized support.
How did you experience the initial consulting and admissions process?
We found the consultation and the entire admission process, including the first day of school celebration, to be exceptionally professional and very friendly. Any follow-up questions that came up after our first meeting with accadis ISB were answered promptly.
How did you and Julian experience the first few months at accadis ISB, particularly in the Primary Class? Can you tell us about Julian's transition into Grade 1 and how that experience was?
The first few weeks in Primary were very exciting and varied for both Julian and us. Overall, Julian adapted very quickly to the transition from preschool to school and the new routines associated with it, making a smooth entry into the Primary Class and accadis ISB. The transition into Grade 1 was also very relaxed for Julian. He was already looking forward to the start of school in the last week of vacation, especially to seeing his friends again.
What makes accadis ISB Elementary School different from other schools, and what do you think makes it special?
In our opinion, the key difference between the Primary School at accadis ISB and other schools lies in its reliability. Not only does this mean that there are no canceled lessons but also to the fact that Julian is “continuously” supported in his personal development and school journey by friendly and competent teachers. Furthermore, the mix of children from many different countries, with various languages and cultures, creates a diverse, open, and vibrant community where the children grow and develop together.
How would you describe the atmosphere and community at accadis ISB?
The atmosphere is open, friendly, and egalitarian, where everyone can find their place.
Which event or experience did you and Julian enjoy the most joy so far?
Julian particularly enjoyed all the field trips. Highlighting visits like the trip to the fire station and the excursion to the “accadis Bildungswald” in Schmitten. As parents, we really enjoyed the accadis ISB Summer Fair, especially the numerous performances from the different Grades. A big thank you to the teachers who prepared the performances together with the children.
How does Julian experience the lessons at accadis ISB and the support provided by the teachers?
Julian finds the lessons at accadis ISB exciting, varied, creative, and fun. He enjoys going to school and attends with a lot of joy.
How has the school contributed to Julian’s personal development so far?
Through his time at accadis ISB, Julian’s self-confidence has grown, and he has been able to develop his curiosity and openness to new things.
What additional offerings or activities do you particularly appreciate at accadis ISB?
We really appreciate that the lessons are supplemented by numerous and diverse field trips to nature, the theater, etc. Even though we don’t currently make use of it, we find the wide range of after school activities to be excellent.
