For the fifth time, accadis International School Bad Homburg bids farewell to the graduating class of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and honours 17 graduates.
A big day for the class of 2022 at accadis International School Bad Homburg! On Wednesday, 25 May 2022, 17 students received their High School Diplomas in front of their parents and friends. Proudly, the graduates accepted the congratulations from the Head of School, Janina Sparks, their homeroom teacher Greg Cassidy and from Prof. Christoph Kexel, Managing Partner of accadis International School Bad Homburg. The accadis ISB teaching team and the administrative staff was also present and applauded the students.
Musical performances and heartfelt speeches
Graduate Cosima, as well as Dr. Stefan Wolkenfeld, Secondary School Coordinator, set the mood with musical performances. The ceremony also included heartfelt speeches. After Prof. Christoph Kexel’s opening remarks and Janina Sparks’ address, homeroom teacher Greg Cassidy, also spoke to the twelfth graders. “We are very happy about the trust the students and their parents have placed in us. One of our graduates has been with us since Kindergarten. Several others joined us early in Elementary School”, Janina Sparks explained proudly.
The High School Diploma, the graduates’ speech and the traditional tossing of the caps
From the graduates’ perspective, the ceremony offered many highlights: The presentation of the High School Diploma, a photo collage covering the last 12 years of school, bringing back many memories, the humorous graduates’ speech by Sofia and Andrés and finally the traditional tossing of the caps. As a surprise, graduate Jennifer reached for the microphone and sang the song "Night Changes" by One Direction. Her classmates were amazed at her performance, which they had not expected.
On 10 June, another highlight awaits: The Graduation Prom. With everybody dressed to impress, it will be an opportunity to raise a toast to the graduates again and to celebrate the completion of school education.
Off into the world with the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme
For the IB-Diploma Programme, students choose higher and standard level courses from up to six areas (studies in language and literature, language acquisition, individuals and society, sciences, mathematics, the arts) and achieve a degree equal to the German Abitur. With the IB-Diploma Programme, all doors are open to graduates - at home and internationally, since the degree is recognised around the world and qualifies students for study in Germany or abroad.
