accadis International School Bad Homburg says goodbye to the fourth graduating class of the International Baccalaureate diploma program.

"The final spurt!" was the motto of the IB Diploma graduating class students at accadis ISB over the past few weeks. From April 30 to May 21, 2021, they completed their final exams under strict Corona hygiene measures. Thanks to low infection rates, they received their High School Diploma certificates in the attendance of their parents on May 28, 2021. Congratulations were offered by Principal Janina Sparks, homeroom teacher Henrike Godding, and accadis Managing Partners Gerda Meinl-Kexel and Professor Dr. Christoph Kexel, as well as other accadis ISB teachers and administrators.

Final exams in challenging times

Excited and somewhat wistful, the accadis ISB graduates received their certificates in "caps and gowns" and adhering to hygiene and contact rules. In their speeches, Principal Janina Sparks and homeroom teacher Henrike Godding praised the graduates' motivation and perseverance. They mastered a particularly demanding secondary school period with alternating in-class sessions, hygiene measures and very little contact with their peers. "That's why we're all the more pleased that they're experiencing a traditional graduation ceremony again this year," said Janina Sparks. The twelfth graders themselves had the final word. With a lot of humor, two graduates reviewed the highs and lows of their school years. During the champagne reception in the forecourt of the neighboring accadis Hochschule Bad Homburg, the graduation ceremony ended with good exchanges about the future of the IB graduates.

Developed 50 years ago by the private foundation International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) in Switzerland for diplomats' children, the IB Diploma Programme has established itself worldwide. At more than 5,000 schools in 156 countries, students complete the academically oriented, challenging upper secondary program. In Germany, 79 of 84 IB World Schools teach the IB Diploma Programme. Since successfully passing the demanding IB accreditation process in 2016, accadis ISB also awards the globally recognized university entrance qualification. "The IB Diploma enjoys a high reputation at universities in Germany as well as worldwide due to its academic demands," says Professor Dr. Christoph Kexel. "As an IB World School, we provide a high-quality, challenging and international school education. We are excited about the career paths of our IB graduates and look forward to the final year of their successors in the fifth IB Diploma cohort."
