Each year on 21 September, people all over the world celebrate the International Day of Peace, also known as World Peace Day. They commemorate a good life and work on making the world a better and more peaceful place. Also the accadis ISB students celebrated the International Day of Peace.
The importance of peace for the world
Together with millions of schools worldwide, they acknowledged peace with peace songs, peace artwork, and peace speeches which they wrote for this special day.
Enjoying a life in peace
As a community, they reflected with their teachers on how fortunate they are to live in a society where they are able to enjoy peace every day. However, they also remembered the ones who unfortunately are not able to experience peace in their country because of various conflicts. Together they lit a candle for peace and hope that their wishes for world peace will one day come true.
Values in everyday school life
As a bilingual school with a broader perspective, we pass on important values to our students every day. Thus, our students address the seven “accadis values” regularly. Their first letters respectively make up the word "accadis". Each of the values is addressed for two weeks during the daily homeroom, and students discuss how to live each value in everyday life.

The International Day of Peace
Already on 21 September 1981, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed the "International Day of Peace". Since 2002, millions of people worldwide have been celebrating this day with commemorations, workshops and many other events.
