Last Friday marked the start of the 2024 | 2025 school year at SÜDCAMPUS Bad Homburg. accadis International School welcomed the ABC students and all new families to the school during the first day of school celebration. The bilingual school also introduced its new Head of School, Maximilian Müllerleile, to coincide with the start of school after the summer vacation. Four First Day of School Ceremonies on two days
On Friday, August 23, the school community welcomed all new Primary Class and Grade 1 students. In the presence of parents and friends, they received their school cones and were warmly welcomed by their new class teachers, the Head of Elementary School, Daniel Cox, the Head of School, Maximilian Müllerleile, and Managing Partner, Prof. Christoph Kexel. "Every year I am amazed about all the colorful school cones that have been lovingly designed and filled. It's a really beautiful tradition and a lovely memory of such a special day," said Prof. Christoph Kexel who also spoke to the young children and their parents at the ceremony.
On Monday, 26 August, the new Grade 5 students were also welcomed in a festive manner. They will now be attending Secondary School and preparing to enter the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Grade 10 student Tia provided the musical accompaniment for the ceremony, playing two impressive pieces on the piano. Many of the students had already joined accadis ISB Elementary School and had participated in a trial day at the Secondary School during the previous school year. Nevertheless, they were very excited to go to "big school" in a new school building. After the welcome ceremony, the Grade 5 students followed their teachers into their classrooms, curious about what lies ahead.
New Head of School: International Experience Meets Local Roots
With the start of the school year 2024 | 2025, accadis International School welcomes its new Head of School, Maximilian Müllerleile. Originally from Oberursel, he obtained his qualification for secondary school teaching, specializing in English and Physical Education, at Goethe University Frankfurt and gained varied international leadership and teaching experience in his career to date.
"I identify wholeheartedly with the accadis values and look forward to further developing the school whilst continuing to stay in contact with students in lessons," says Maximilian Müllerleile. He describes himself as "open-minded, dedicated, curious" and particularly appreciates the international-mindedness of accadis ISB. "With more than 50 nationalities, accadis ISB takes the world to my doorstep."
Second Sports Hall at SÜDCAMPUS for Bad Homburg and accadis
Throughout the school year 2024 | 2025 an exciting building project will be carried out in cooperation with the city of Bad Homburg: The construction of a second sports hall serving our school and university students as well as local sports groups. Work commenced at the beginning of the summer holidays. Prof. Dr. Christoph Kexel, Managing Partner of accadis Bildung explains: "The second hall will be built next to the existing sports hall, but on stilts, and will therefore provide a roof for the existing basketball court. We are looking forward to implementing yet another project with the city of Bad Homburg at SÜDCAMPUS."
