On Friday, 21 August, we welcomed 80 new students and their families on their first day of school in bright sunshine. They will attend the Primary Class and Grade 1.
Furthermore, our new Grade 5 students were excited to meet their teachers and future classmates on Monday, 24 August.
"School cones" and first look at classroom
In our sports hall each of the four “first day of school celebrations” started off with a welcoming video presenting the whole ISB school community. The ISB students welcomed the newbies with the accadis ISB song.
The Managing Partner, Professor Dr. Christoph Kexel, and the Head of School, Janina Sparks, addressed the new students and their families with festive words leading to the highlight of the day: The handover of the colorful school cones to the excited children. Subsequently, of course, a first visit to their classroom was not to be missed and our youngest Elementary School students had the chance to get to know their teachers.The entire ISB teaching staff then stood in the schoolyard to bid farewell to our new students.

Three classes in Primary Class, four classes in Grade 1
In the Primary Class we welcome three classes. For the first time ever there are going to be four Grade 1 classes at accadis ISB and 17 new students will join the Grade 1 classes. Numerous classmates, who already completed accadis ISB Primary Class and therefore were not re-enrolled, are looking forward to their arrival. We are pleased to see the continuous increase in student numbers and are proud to welcome four Grade 1 classes this year. We say thank you for all the trust placed in us.
We also welcome another 50 new students in Grades 5 to 11 as well as 53 new children in Preschool.
Grade 5 students start school with Welcome Video
The warm welcome words of Head of School, Janina Sparks, were followed by the new welcome video. The film was shot last school year, and some of the students discovered themselves in the video. Before leaving for their classrooms, the students were given #weareaccadisISB drinking bottles by their teachers. A handy present to ensure that our students drink enough water in order to help them concentrate during lessons. The "#weareaccadis logo" also reminds them that they are part of our international accadis ISB school community.
