accadis International School and accadis Hochschule are working together to promote reforestation in the Taunus region. On Tuesday, April 30, 225 young sweet chestnut trees were planted in the accadis educational forest (Bildungswald) during the third planting campaign.
Working together for the future of the Taunus region
After a brief introduction by the HessenForst and Herzenswald teams, employees of accadis Bildung as well as students of accadis Hochschule and parents of accadis International School proceeded to plant the young chestnuts. Equipped with seedlings, shovels, and protectors, they planted 225 sweet chestnut seedlings within 2.5 hours. There are now over 650 young trees growing in the accadis educational forest.
Climate-resistant and resilient forest
The
accadis educational forest represents accadis Bildung's commitment to shaping a sustainable future and leading by example. Since April 2022, trees have been planted on the 30,000-hectare site in Schmitten for the new students of accadis International School. This initiative will create a climate-resistant and resilient forest that will continue to grow through ongoing planting campaigns and sustainably support the reforestation of the Taunus region.
Sustainability in education
The importance of sustainability in education is a topic that Prof. Christoph Kexel, Managing Partner of accadis International School, is keenly aware of: "Our students need to experience the importance of sustainable action and understand how important a climate-resistant and resilient forest landscape is." To this end, the educational forest was created and is regularly utilized for excursions. These excursions provide students with the opportunity to learn more about the forest and explore it under the guidance of HessenForst employees.
