Once again, accadis International School Bad Homburg joined the Christmas in a Shoebox project this year. With great commitment, we supported the initiative organized by the "Kinderzukunft" Foundation, which brings joy to children in need during the christmas season.
303 colorful, lovingly filled gifts
At the beginning of December, 303 lovingly packed Christmas parcels began their journey to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, and – if possible – Ukraine. These colourful packages are filled with treasures like books, school or craft supplies, stuffed animals, sweets, and hair accessories. For many children in these regions, this is the only gift they will receive for Christmas – a small gesture that brings immense joy.
A meaningful initiative: The "Kinderzukunft" Foundation
For over 30 years, the "Kinderzukunft" Foundation has been dedicated to giving children in need better prospects for their future. In addition to the Christmas parcel campaign, the organization supports disadvantaged regions with children’s homes, educational projects, and healthcare programs. The foundation highlights the plight of millions of children living in poverty without access to education or basic necessities.
Through initiatives like "Christmas in a Shoebox," the foundation provides these children not only with practical aid but also with the reassurance that they are not forgotten.
A heartfelt thank you to our helpers
A project like this would not be possible without the support of many helping hands. A big thank you goes to this year’s organizers, Mahriban, Ella, and Isabella from Grade 11, who enthusiastically managed the project in collaboration with accadis. They were supported by teacher Henrike Godding as well as the Academic Affairs and #accadisgoesgreen team.
An equally big thank you goes to everyone who contributed with their parcels to make this wonderful campaign a success!
