Proud Art Teacher: Creative Engagement in the IB Diploma Programme

accadis-isb-international-baccalaureate "The Grade 12 Art Exhibition is always a highlight for me and I am overwhelmed by the results every year," says Stalina Arnold, Art teacher and Head of Department for Art, proudly. In the IB Diploma Programme, which leads to a university entrance qualification recognised in Germany and worldwide, the subject is called "Visual Arts". It goes far beyond 'painting': the curriculum includes topics such as artistic identity and expression, historical and cultural influences and the use of media to communicate ideas. The art exhibition is an official part of the IB examination and accounts for 40% of the overall grade.
