How Admission Works

at German Private Schools

Many expatriate families want to register their children at a private school for their stay in Germany. In order to facilitate the admission process, it is worthwhile to provide the necessary data at the first contact. Based on many years of experience, the accadis ISB Admissions staff give tips on how to register your child successfully in private schools.

Complete data on child and family

Before you make an appointment with the Admissions staff, they need the complete data on your child and family. Only then can they determine whether the child meets the basic requirements for admission and whether it makes sense for both sides to get to know each other during a consultation meeting. Therefore, please state the following when submitting your inquiry:

  • What is the exact date of birth of your child?
  • What is the exact date of the planned school entrance?
  • How long do you plan to stay with your family in Germany?
  • Which school system has your child attended in which country so far?
  • What languages does your child speak at what level?
Don't forget to send the last report cards to the school by email.

The more concrete and structured information the Admissions staff receive at the beginning, the quicker they can judge whether your child fits into the school and whether the appropriate place is available. If your child has special pedagogical needs, e. g. is autistic or has a reading and spelling challenge, please let the Admissions staff know immediately at the first contact.
